Our Story

As four South African friends travelling through Europe for a month who appreciate and understand a great bottle of wine, we struggled to find a good bottle of South African wine at a reasonable price. 

On our return back to South Africa we embarked on a business venture to remedy this and teamed up with Michael Pretorius from Contreberg Wine Farm, just outside Cape Town.

Contreberg Wine Farm have produced multiple award winning wines, and from the vineyards is the most majestic view of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.

With the partnership of Contreberg supplying grapes from their farm, combined with grapes sourced from other popular regions in the Cape, we approached the established Boland Cellars to blend and bottle on our behalf. And Blue Mountain Wines was born at the foothills of the Majestic Table Mountain. 

Blue Mountain Wines is a proudly South African easy drinking, but affordable wine for the world to enjoy.
